America’s Christian Credit Union (ACCU) is proud to announce the beginning of its 60th-year-anniversary campaign, which kicked off with a special event the morning of the 3rd. This event gathered state representatives, city officials and ministry leaders from around the Los Angeles and Orange Counties to celebrate the Kingdom impact ACCU has inspired for 60 years.

The 60th Anniversary campaign will run throughout the 2018 year, using each month to highlight the distinctive values of the credit union. With the theme of “60 Strong,” the campaign will feature how ACCU is creating space for stronger churches, stronger families, stronger futures, stronger finances and stronger communities.

In May of 1958, five men gathered a total of $135 to launch a credit union that quickly grew to serve the financial needs of nearly 500 Nazarene ministers in California, little did these “founding fathers” realize the growth and impact that their cooperative enterprise would experience in the decades to follow. Each year since its founding, ACCU has sustained and enhanced its financial strength and realized its strongest year yet in 2017. After 60 years, ACCU has grown to serve the banking needs of over 140,000 members spanning the entire nation. Attendees exclaimed on social following the event, “May God continue to bless your organization and all those who give of themselves to see it prosper.” Members can expect this year to be filled with exciting events, specials, and member stories commemorating the credit union’s milestone year.

“We are excited to see what 2018 has in store for ACCU as we kick off the new year with a bang,” exclaimed ACCU President/CEO Mendell L. Thompson. “Reflecting on the history of this establishment reminds us of how present God’s favor has been on this place. And we only anticipate that to continue through this 60th year and beyond,” said Thompson.
