Of the seven shelters and rescues that brought adoptable animals, 16 dogs, cats, and a rabbit found loving homes. Assemblymember, Roger Hernández, joined the event and presented each rescue, shelter and participating vendor including host, America's Christian CU, with Certificates of Recognition in honor of providing the furry friends of San Gabriel Valley with the opportunity to find their forever home. The event was emceed by Kelly's K-9 College who announced various raffle prize winners by having their specially trained dogs sniff out the winning tickets. Event co-host, Mendell Thompson, President and CEO of ACCU and 2015 candidate for Glendora City Council, provided the first 10 adopted pets with a bag full of goodies to help them get started in their new family. Other event partners included Inland Valley Human Society, Friends of Upland Animal Shelter, Lucky Cat Rescue, Hand in Paw, A Cut Above, Maltese Rescue California, For the Love of Animals, Stacy's Critter Sitters, The Crazy Dog Ladies, Pet Spaw, Bart the Blockhound and Highlander Pet Center. "We have been a part of so many large and small pet adoption events, and this is by far the best that we have ever attended," said a Friends of Upland Animal Shelter Volunteer. On the day of the event one credit union representative explained, "Our mission is To Reach, Serve and Teach and today we accomplished that through placing over 15 animals in loving homes. We can't wait to do this again next year." - Share - - - - - - [mailto:?body=https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/furry-valentines-day-celebration-a-success-for-accu](mailto:?body=https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/furry-valentines-day-celebration-a-success-for-accu) ### Subscribe Here! #### Related [ACCU and Christian Care Ministry (CCM) Ignite New Era of Faith-Based Collaboration with a Three-Year Agreement](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/accu-ccm-ignite-new-era) [Recent Bank Closures: A Moment of Clarity](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/recent-bank-closures-a-moment-of-clarity) [Thankful Thursday - Vintage Church Pasadena](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/thankful-thursday-vintage-church-pasadena) #### Topics - [Announcements (121)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/announcements) - [Stronger Communities (105)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/stronger-communities) - [Stronger Families (81)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/stronger-families) - [Awards & Recognition (80)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/awards-recognition) - [Stronger Futures (75)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/stronger-futures) - [Stronger Ministries (67)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/stronger-ministries) - [Adoption & Fostering (27)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/adoption-fostering) - [Visa Give Back (9)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/visa-give-back) - [Surviving College (7)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/surviving-college) - [Adoption Stories (6)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/adoption-stories) - [Financial Education (5)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/financial-education) - [Credit Union Basics (4)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/credit-union-basics) - [Credit Union vs. Bank (4)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/credit-union-vs-bank) - [Banking Services (2)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/banking-services) - [Press Release (2)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/press-release) - [Safety & Security (2)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/safety-security) - [Finance Basics (1)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/finance-basics) - [Online Banking (1)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/online-banking) - [Saving Strategies (1)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/saving-strategies) - [Savings Tips (1)](https://blog.americaschristiancu.com/news-and-press/tag/savings-tips) See All Topics
