Amy Elzik of Foothill Church Receives One of Six $2,500 America's Christian Credit Union Scholarship Awards
Foothill Church has been a longtime valued member of ACCU, and we are excited to see the Kingdom work being done by the younger generations mentored there. Amy Elzik was one of more than 100 applicants vying for the 2018 scholarship award. Each applicant represented a diverse mix of backgrounds, educational pursuits, and servant leadership qualities. Honorees were selected based upon academic performance, community involvement, extracurricular activities, and quality of response to the application essay. Amy has served at Foothill for the past 4 years as a worship leader, and youth group leader. She has also served on Missions Trips and as an Arabic to English translator in effort to help mitigate Syrian Refugee Crisis.
Amy graduated summa cum laude and will be representing the University of La Verne’s School of Business Honors Society in Italy this summer before she begins her International Business graduate program at Hult International Business School in London. Amy recently stopped by ACCU’s Glendora office to pick up her check and was greeted by President/CEO Mendell L. Thompson. As she received the check, a very enthusiastic Amy said, “It is an honor to be chosen out of so many deserving applicants. I can’t believe it!“ She plans to use the scholarship award in her studies to “bring hope and resources to the world’s most impoverished economies through working as a Global Resource Coordinator at World Vision.” ACCU is honored to share in the mission of our churches by serving their members. Through them we see acts of true Kingdom work.
